I used to go here all the time, but often found that whatever I needed was locked up and I had to wait as long as 20 minutes (!) for someone to come and unlock it for me. I do not believe Target that this neighborhood is particularly susceptible to theft, and I’ve found I can easily get what I need from Cub across the parking lot. Including laundry detergent, paper towels, other cleaning supplies, and groceries of course. Highly recommend Cub! It’s union too.

The new cases around almost everything in the health department is truly awful. I was there last night and they had only one employee available to unlock cases, and I had to wait almost 10 minutes before I was able to access an $11 over-the-counter medication. I had to actively find them and ask for their help too, as they weren’t coming when I pressed the help button. I’m sorry but I won’t be returning to this Target. It was way too much of a hassle to buy something simple here.

I’m gonna echo other people saying that it is REALLY weird and annoying that for some reason this target randomly closes down self-checkout when they have maybe 2 cashiers. The lines get SO long and it just seems so counter intuitive. Bruh. It is 8 pm. I just want to get home so I can eat food. I’m sure the cashiers don’t want to be dealing with annoyed customers. Target keeps acting like their losses are so huge, and yet this place could be good if they even did an OUNCE of like… connecting with and restoring trust in the community. Looks like I won’t be stopping here on my way home from the gym ever again 😂 the staff are nice but this place sucks for real. Edit: bruh I have been redirected to two different damn lines while trying to check out. I basically get to the check out and then get a “sorry, this line is now closed.” Hello??? Been waiting for damn near 20 mins to just *get out.* Man, I don’t write bad reviews if I can help it but this is unreal. This place sucks.

I like a store that's going to have the employees greet you at the door, make you feel welcome, & this location doesn't do that. Every time I shop here I notice the employees are scattered all over the floors basically stocking stuff all the time but barely even asking customers if we need assistance finding anything let alone say hello when they walk by you. I've made complaints to Targets team about this several times and they always come to the employees defense saying things like it's been tough on all of us what with the pandemic & everything. But I've seen many employees at businesses greet customers & showing respect even when respect isn't given, as well as with everything that's going on. That's just my honest opinion and I don't sugar coat anything. It's also very difficult finding stuff here and you have to walk all the way around the store with employees not being very helpful to walk with you to find the items you're looking for. The registers are also way down at the other end of the store. It's a long ways to walk all the way down there to the registers when there should be some towards the front of the store too. I don't get that. Maybe it's because of the events that happened last year that made them redo the store all over like that. I'd say it was better before than it is now. They are always out of stuff too & because of that I can never get the things I actually need. The also price everything so high & rarely have any discounts. I told them that too a number of times because of alot of us in Mpls don't make alot of money so it would help being in a lower income community to price stuff alot cheaper. I think there is one employee out of all the employees there that actually care about the customers & that is Cassie. She's always friendly in a positive mood and helps to assist in anything when customers need assistance. I think the other employees could learn from her & she deserves a bonus. She doesn't try to look away from you when you walk by her & always says hi.

Target's financials are healthy, yet they claim they have unbearable losses. The data doesn't support this. I don't know what they're trying to get to, but corporate greed has motivated them to impose onerous solutions to problems inflated by bad faith. Target has chosen to close down self checkout for some period of time during the day. To mitigate for this, they could hire more cashiers, or keep self check out open with additional attendants or loss prevention. But instead, they just leave two cashiers to tend to the front and force people off the sales floor when the lines get unbearably long. Everyone loses. Instead of putting customer experience and community opportunity (job opportunities) as a priority, corporate is hand wringing and making things worse. I generally love shopping at Target, but this is extremely disappointing. If Target chooses long lines, empty sales floor, and stressed employees over supporting their customers and community, I'd rather shop elsewhere.

Hidden gem. Most of the items that I need are in stock at this location because not many people shop here. The downside is that they do not have an Ulta and the checkout lines can get long. The upside is that the cashiers and employees that I have interacted with were ALL very sweet and helpful! I have not had a negative experience with anyone who works here yet. Avoid going at night because there are many panhandlers hovering outside the stores and in the parking lot. Overall I would recommend Target on Lake Street!

Why don't they hire? This Target store has had the same job openings for Months and don't fill them. When you go shopping at this store they don't seem to not have enough people working. I've applied here numerous times as well as other people I know but they seem to not want to hire anybody... I've also heard they will only hire you if your considered a Minority... Great job Target!!

I have a problem with Target, in general, that if I need something & go there to get it, they won't have it. There are things that you would think they would have. Years ago, I went to Target for shampoo & looked through all their shampois only to find none of them was sulfate free. Then there are the things that are in stock, but their website lies. Once, I needed something & it was in stock at the three stores closest to where I lived, but in reality they didn't have it. This Target is immense. Target used to have phones where you could call & ask for the location of an item. Maybe because the information is online, it is considered unnecessary and now there's just a button for an associate to meet you. In this case, I got a message that no associate was available. Great. What now? I called the general number for the store & that worked. Employees are great, but busy. Unfortunately, though there should have been 3 of the item, there were 0. So, it was a waste of everyone's time. My suggestion is that if you need something from there, order ahead & go to their pick-up desk. Let them figure it out in the meantime. 😅
